How do I convert EPUB to PDF for sharing or printing?

Multi-page sources (DOCX, EPUB, XLSX) preserve their natural page breaks; single-asset sources (images) get one page each, auto-fit to the page. Will the text still reflow to my screen after converting EPUB to PDF?

No — this conversion pins the layout. An EPUB adapts its line breaks to whatever width and font size the reader is using; the PDF fixes page geometry at conversion time, so on a phone you get the whole page scaled down rather than text rewrapped to the screen. That is the right trade when the layout must not move, and the wrong one when the file is for reading on a small device. EPUB reflows text to any screen size and any font size, which is what makes it readable on a phone as well as an e-reader.
Will the converted book keep its cover, chapters and table of contents?

Yes where both formats can express them. Cover art, chapter divisions and a navigable table of contents are structural metadata, so they carry across rather than being flattened into the text. Footnotes and index entries are the fragile parts — they degrade into inline text on targets with no anchor mechanism.
Will the PDF open directly in a browser?

Yes, and the EPUB would not have. Browsers ship a decoder for PDF and none for EPUB, so an EPUB link forces a download while a PDF renders inline. That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. A PDF looks byte-for-byte identical on every machine and every printer, which is why contracts, invoices and academic papers all live in it.
Why does my EPUB file refuse to convert?

DRM, in almost every case. A protected EPUB is encrypted and tied to an account, and no converter can decrypt it — ours included. Files you created yourself, or bought from a DRM-free store, convert without any trouble at all. EPUB has no fixed pagination, so page numbers are meaningless, and complex layout — tables, equations, multi-column — degrades badly.
Is the PDF side of this conversion searchable?

It depends entirely on whether real text is present. A PDF generated from a document carries an actual text layer and is searchable; a PDF built from scans or images is a picture of text and is not, until OCR adds a layer. /pdf-ocr/ does that, and it is worth running before any conversion that expects to read the words.
Will the EPUB to PDF conversion keep my fonts and formatting?

Yes for text-bearing EPUB (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT) — fonts are embedded into the PDF so the output looks identical on every viewer. Image-only EPUB (JPG, PNG) just centres the image on the page; layout is N/A.
Can I merge multiple EPUB files into one PDF?

What page size and orientation does the PDF use?

Defaults: A4 portrait (international) or letter portrait (US). The advanced options expose page-size (A3, A4, A5, letter, legal, tabloid, custom) and orientation (portrait / landscape). For image EPUB, the "auto-fit" choice picks orientation to match the source aspect ratio.
Will hyperlinks in my EPUB survive the PDF conversion?

Yes for EPUB formats that carry real hyperlink metadata (DOCX, ODT, HTML, EPUB). Image-based EPUB (JPG, PNG, TIFF) have no hyperlinks to preserve. The PDF file uses the standard PDF anchor model so links work in every reader (Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, Edge).
Is the PDF searchable with selectable text?

Image-based EPUB produces an image-only PDF — to make it searchable, follow up with /pdf-ocr/ to run optical character recognition over the page bundle. An EPUB is a ZIP archive of XHTML and CSS with a manifest — essentially a small website packaged as a book.
Can I password-protect the PDF after conversion?

Not in this same step — convert EPUB to PDF first, then use /pdf-protect/ to add an open password, owner password, or print / edit restrictions. Splitting the steps lets each conversion stay focused and fast.
