How do I convert DivX to MOV without re-encoding the video stream?

When the DivX and MOV containers can both carry the same codec (H.264, H.265, VP9, AV1), the converter falls back to a remux: the elementary streams are copied byte-for-byte into the MOV container and only the wrapper changes. A remux of a 1 GB DivX into MOV typically finishes in 5-15 seconds with zero quality loss. DivX content is MPEG-4 Part 2 video, usually wrapped in AVI, with MP3 or AC-3 audio alongside it. A MOV normally carries H.264 or HEVC for delivery, or ProRes when it is an editing master, alongside AAC or uncompressed PCM audio.
My DivX footage shows comb lines on movement — will that carry into the MOV?

It will unless you deinterlace, and DivX content very often is interlaced because the format comes from the broadcast and DVD era. Interlaced frames store two half-height fields captured a fiftieth of a second apart; on a progressive-scan phone or monitor that reads as horizontal combing on anything that moves. Turn on the deinterlace option and the encoder weaves the fields into whole progressive frames before writing the MOV. DivX names a codec rather than a container — an MPEG-4 Part 2 implementation that made ripping a DVD to a single CD possible around 1999.
My DivX recordings are split into numbered parts — does MOV have the same limit?

No, and that is one of the better reasons to move. The DivX container has a practical single-file ceiling that long or high-bitrate recordings run straight into, which is exactly why old captures arrive as part1, part2, part3. MOV has no equivalent limit, so the pieces can be rejoined into one continuous file. DivX needs roughly twice the bitrate of H.264 for the same quality and has no path to HDR, 10-bit colour or resolutions beyond 1080p.
Can I add selectable subtitles once the file is MOV?

Yes. DivX has no usable soft-subtitle track, so subtitles for DivX content had to be burned into the picture or shipped as a separate sidecar file. MOV carries subtitles as their own selectable stream, so after conversion you can attach an SRT track the viewer can switch on, switch off or restyle.
Does MOV support chapter markers that DivX did not?

It does. MOV stores chapters as container metadata, so a long recording can be navigated by section instead of by scrubbing a progress bar. DivX has nowhere to put that information, so if the source shipped with a chapter list it was in a sidecar file — hand that to the converter and it gets written into the MOV. MOV is the format professional editors ask for, because it survives repeated round-trips through Final Cut Pro, Premiere and DaVinci Resolve without generational loss.
Is MOV a container or a codec, and does that change what I get back?

What about MKV attachments (fonts, cover art) when going DivX to MOV?
