Does TIFF to PSD conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when PSD is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background — if you need transparency, pick a transparency-aware target instead of PSD. PSD is Adobe Photoshop’s native document, and it is a working file rather than a delivery format.

What happens to EXIF metadata when converting TIFF to PSD?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the PSD. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.

Can I batch-convert hundreds of TIFF files to PSD at once?

Are my TIFF files private during conversion?

Why is my converted PSD file bigger or smaller than expected?

A TIFF file with strong compression (heavily lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded into a lossless PSD (PNG, TIFF), and a high-bitrate lossless TIFF often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG/WebP. The ratio depends on the image content (photos compress differently from line-art or screenshots). TIFF’s flexibility is its weakness — two TIFFs can be structured so differently that software reading one fails on the other — and files are large. PSD is huge, opens properly in almost nothing outside Adobe, and has to be flattened before anyone can view or print it.

Can I use the converted PSD file commercially?

Yes. The conversion is a format change — copyright on the image content stays with whoever held it on the source TIFF. We add no watermark, no metadata stamp, and claim no licence over the PSD output.
