Does SVG to GIF conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when GIF is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background — if you need transparency, pick a transparency-aware target instead of GIF. GIF is CompuServe’s 1987 format, and the only reason it survived is that it animates.
How does text inside the SVG behave?

In an SVG, text is real text — selectable, searchable and re-styleable, and it needs the font to be available or embedded to render as intended. Converting away from SVG turns that text into pixels or into document text depending on the target; converting towards SVG only produces real text if the source had a text layer to begin with.
What happens to EXIF metadata when converting SVG to GIF?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the GIF. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Can I batch-convert hundreds of SVG files to GIF at once?

Are my SVG files private during conversion?

Why is my converted GIF file bigger or smaller than expected?

An SVG file with strong compression (heavily lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded into a lossless GIF (PNG, TIFF), and a high-bitrate lossless SVG often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG/WebP. The ratio depends on the image content (photos compress differently from line-art or screenshots). SVG cannot represent a photograph — tracing one produces either a crude approximation or a file larger than the original raster. GIF’s 256-colour ceiling wrecks gradients and video stills, and its file sizes for animation are an order of magnitude worse than WebP or MP4.
