Why is my converted PSD file bigger or smaller than expected?

A JPG file with strong compression (heavily lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded into a lossless PSD (PNG, TIFF), and a high-bitrate lossless JPG often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG/WebP. The ratio depends on the image content (photos compress differently from line-art or screenshots).

Can I use the converted PSD file commercially?

Yes. The conversion is a format change — copyright on the image content stays with whoever held it on the source JPG. We add no watermark, no metadata stamp, and claim no licence over the PSD output.
