How do I convert FLAC audio to AMR without losing quality?

Upload the FLAC file and the converter chooses the AMR codec / bitrate combination that matches the source profile. Lossless AMR (WAV / FLAC / ALAC) preserves every sample exactly; lossy AMR (MP3 / AAC / OGG / Opus) defaults to 192 kbps which is transparent for almost all music content. FLAC uses linear prediction plus Rice coding to reach roughly 50-60% of the original size while decoding back to bit-identical PCM. AMR is a narrowband speech codec running between 4.75 and 12.2 kbps, modelling the human vocal tract rather than the full audio spectrum.
Some, and it is permanent — this is the one direction where information is genuinely thrown away. FLAC holds every sample exactly; AMR discards what a psychoacoustic model predicts you will not hear. At 192 kbps and above that prediction is good enough to be transparent on most material and most equipment. Keep the FLAC as your master, because you cannot get back to it from the AMR.
Not intact. FLAC carries a proper metadata block, but AMR has no standard place for artist, album, track number or cover art, so tags are dropped rather than mangled. Keep the FLAC as the tagged copy, or re-tag afterwards with a tool like Mp3tag or MusicBrainz Picard. AMR destroys music: its 8 kHz bandwidth removes everything above telephone frequencies, and no amount of re-encoding brings it back.
It is folded down to stereo, because AMR has no practical multichannel mode. The downmix uses the standard coefficients so centre-channel dialogue stays clear and the surrounds are mixed in at reduced level. Anything that depended on discrete channel placement is gone once that happens.
Because one side of it is a speech codec rather than a music codec. It models the human vocal tract and discards everything outside telephone bandwidth, which is fine for a voice memo and destructive for anything with instruments in it. Converting away from it cannot restore the missing frequencies — they were never encoded in the first place. FLAC is still several times larger than a good lossy file, and Apple’s ecosystem only added support recently and grudgingly.
Default 192 kbps for lossy AMR; pass-through for lossless AMR. Override to 320 kbps if you want maximum lossy fidelity, 128 kbps for size-constrained podcast distribution, or 96 kbps for voice-only sources where the smaller file matters more than studio detail.
If FLAC is lossy (MP3, AAC) and AMR is lossless (WAV, FLAC), the AMR is no better than the FLAC — you cannot recover information already discarded by the lossy FLAC codec. If FLAC is lossless and AMR is lossy, expect the AMR encoder to recompress; at 192 kbps the loss is imperceptible to most ears.
