How do I convert XLSX to PDF for sharing or printing?

Not the way you edit the XLSX. The PDF is a delivery format: it fixes the layout so it renders identically everywhere, which is exactly why it resists editing. Keep the XLSX as the working copy and regenerate the PDF whenever the content changes — round-tripping back out of PDF always loses something.
Will the PDF open directly in a browser?

Yes, and the XLSX would not have. Browsers ship a decoder for PDF and none for XLSX, so an XLSX link forces a download while a PDF renders inline. That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. A PDF looks byte-for-byte identical on every machine and every printer, which is why contracts, invoices and academic papers all live in it.
Do my spreadsheet formulas survive the conversion to PDF?

The values do; the formulas do not. An XLSX stores both the calculation and its current result, and PDF has nowhere to keep the calculation — so what you get is a snapshot of the numbers as they stood at conversion time. Anything that depended on the sheet recalculating stops updating from that point on. XLSX handles a million rows per sheet, compresses far better than XLS, and is readable by Google Sheets, LibreOffice and Numbers. PDF is deliberately hard to edit, and a scanned PDF contains no text at all until OCR has been run over it.
Will the XLSX to PDF conversion keep my fonts and formatting?

Yes for text-bearing XLSX (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT) — fonts are embedded into the PDF so the output looks identical on every viewer. Image-only XLSX (JPG, PNG) just centres the image on the page; layout is N/A.
Can I merge multiple XLSX files into one PDF?

Not in this same step — convert XLSX to PDF first, then use /pdf-protect/ to add an open password, owner password, or print / edit restrictions. Splitting the steps lets each conversion stay focused and fast.
How big will the PDF file be?

Depends on the XLSX. A 10-page DOCX with embedded fonts produces a 200-400 KB PDF. A 10-image JPG batch at full resolution produces a 5-20 MB PDF. The advanced "compress images in PDF" toggle re-encodes embedded images at JPG quality-85 to shrink the PDF aggressively.
